Suggest Treatment For Painful Urination Post Bladder Surgery
Question: I had experitoneal bladder injury from catheter insertion which was repaired. I was put on catheter for three weeks and some antibioitics. My gyn has removed it today which was painless. However, my first attempt to urinate has been extremely painful, feels like severe menstrual cramps to the extent I couldnt sit on the toilet anymore and had to complete it while standing. The pain subsided after i have emptied it all. I have no fever no cramps in between. What could it be? Is it normal after bladder surgery or catheter removal to feel this pain? If yes for how long should i expect this?

Thank you for a quick reply. My appointment is on tuesday and i cant tollerate this pain. Can you please suggest which relaxants i should take to ease the spasms? My bladder injury was just 0.5cm.
