Question: hi, i get a painful lump on the side on anus hole, first time I had it 10 years ago by pulling heavy weight it appeared as small pea size and it was gone few weeks later. since then the lump occasionally comes back after heavy lifting, just each time bigger and more painful, at on occasion i went to gp and he told me something about a blood vessel under my skin, so i wasn't worried too much until now. about a week ago a had really bad cough and the lump appeared bigger and more painful then usual, than yesterday it started to bleed, its got a lot smaller and less painful but it keeps bleeding. what shell i do? got an appointment with gp on 9th of nov. im afraid it wont stop bleeding or will get infection.

Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

According to the information provided by you , in my opinion this lump is a hemorrhoid , hemorrhoids are dialated vein under the skin as your doctor mentioned you as well, this is nothing to be worried about but yes it may get infection.

I will hereby give you some tips to protect yourself from any complications.

1) Protect yourself from constipation, use loads of fluids, high fibre diet like whole wheat , you can even use fibre supplement and cremafen syrup.
2) avoid sitting for long time and straining.
3) Do regular "Sitz bath" twice a day... putting pyodine in the water.
4) You can use Lignocain hemorrhoidal gel or tronolene gel to protect it from infection. Sitz bath will also keep it clean.
5) Keep a good hygiene wash the are with mildly warm water after bowel movement dont wipe it.
6) Meet your doctor ASAP and dont worry nothing will happen this can be easily treated. Quite a common things.

I hope this answered your question, a
