Suggest Treatment For Pain Radiating From Elbow To Forearm

Posted on Sat, 25 Oct 2014
Question: I believe I had injured my right arm last night when I was holding pads. It felt like I've twisted my arm; I felt a sharp sudden pain and numbness. I've tried moving my arms, with a range of motion but it's been almost nil. I can move my shoulders and fingers, but it hurts my arm when i twist it inward. The pain starts at the elbow and shoots down the forearm when i twist inwards.

Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query carefully and to help you better please tell me -
1.Do you have increased pain on lifting a jug filled with water?
2.Pain increases on wriggling of wet clothes?
3.Pain occurs if the wrist is stressed and otherwise not?
If answer to above is YES then most likely it is tennis elbow.
Looking forward to your reply.

Inside of the elbow.

1. No
2. Yes
3. No

The pain increases when i twist the arm inwards. I think I've sprained a ligament around the elbow.

Brief Answer:
Elbow brace will help

Detailed Answer:
Hello
It's good to see you.
I have gone through your reply,it is inflammation of muscles and ligament on inside of elbow. It usually takes 3-4 weeks to heal.To reduce pain and swelling,I would suggest you to take ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin along with elbow brace and rest.
Hope this helps in early recovery.
Take care
