Suggest Treatment For Pain On Shoulder Along With Cough

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: Hi I have a very bad pain in my right shoulder. Right in the blade. A physician's assistant felt it and said it was a muscle (she could feel the knot). However, it hurts so badly I'm worried. I hurts to breathe in and sometimes laugh or talk. If I cough, it's horrible!

Is this just a pulled muscle or should I go to the ER? I have no other symptoms but recently was treated for ulcers and I'm taking omeprazole (40 mils) per day.

Brief Answer:
Just a muscle sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam!

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

I understand your concern.By the position and description of your pain it does sound like a Muscle sprain.Such muscle sprains generally get pulled while doing generaly body movement depending on the location.

I would suggest you to continue the drug as advised and keep giving warm compress on the sore area. These pains generally take time to subside that is about 2 weeks or more depending on how much the muscle injury is.

If after doing all this there is no improvement of your pain and daily activities, then I would suggest you to go for an Xray to rule out any underlying pathology.

Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.
