Suggest Treatment For Pain On Knee After Injury

Question: About a month and a half ago, I fell in my driveway. When I did, I landed directly on my knee. I thought my main injury was breaking my elbow, because my knee had some pain but not a ton. I have noticed in the last few weeks however that part of my knee just below the kneecap is numb. I can feel it on the sides of the knee, but that is about it. I really can't feel it much for the most part. I have yet to make an appointment because I had really hoped that it would get better on it's own. I plan to make an appointment tomorrow, but until I get in, what can I do to keep myself as comfortable as possible? Although it is numb, I still am feeling some pain. If I ice it, then I just get a pins and needles type pain.
