Question: i have some lipomas on my right thigh (for many years,) and last week I rammed my right thigh into the blunt side of a school desk. I have done this before over the years. I woke up with right thigh pain, but the next day it was fine. The next night, I had slight thigh pain, but fine during the day. That second day, I remembered the injury and chalked pain up to that. There was slight bruising, but not painful to the touch. Now pain is occurring during day-- on and off. I did go to urgent care center, and she ruled out dvt; said it was contusion, sent me home with RICE treatment. That was 2 days ago (intitial injury was about 8 days ago.) I still have pain- it isn't over just one lipoma, as it was in beginning. I have hx of ca-- worried.

Brief Answer:
The cancer is hardly possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

The only reason to be concerned is rapidly enlarging lipoma. In such case sarcoma should be ruled out.
If your lipoma is similar size that it was before the injury (it can be swollen of course), there is nothing to be worried about at this point. Pain is not a characteristic sign of soft tissues cancer either.

With the injury you have caused some muscle inflammation, swelling and minor rupture. This should heal by its own, just needs some more time. Usually it takes about 3 weeks.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
