Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Testicle

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Jul 2016
Question: I had some testing done late 2015 that showed Low Testosterone. I also had an MRI to rule out kidney stones. I recently started having some pain in my right testicle and some dull pain in my lower back. I attributed the pain to having just run a race, but after doing some research, I am a little concerned.

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having back pain and testicular pain at the same time. You thought it might be due to just running a race but you are concerned it maybe something else. It could be a kidney stone. If the pain becomes very acute and unbearable then it is a kidney stone. Or if you notice blood in your urine that would also be a sign of a kidney stone. If your pain is just minimal less than 5 on a scale of 1-10 with ten being the worst pain ever then it is more than likely just muscle pain from your run. Kidney stone pain is very intense ans and some say almost as bad as birthing a baby. The best treatment for both the kidney stone and muscle pain is increased water or fluids. The extra fluids will help flush the kidneys and also flush the muscle tissues of toxins built up after a race. You can also try tylenol, ibuprofen or aspirin. If these measures do not help then I recommend seeing your medical provider or emergency room depending on the severity of your pain

In summary
1. possible kidney stone vs muscle pain
2. Drink plenty of extra fluids
3. If pain is mild use tylenol, ibuprofen or aspirin
4. If severe see your medical provider or Emergency room

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Thank you for the information you provided. I am actually relieved that you think it could be a kidney stone. I am pretty sure I passed one months ago, but I did go to my doctor at that point, and they checked for more and did not see any.

I am in very good physical shape. I run, ride, swim and do core weight workouts at least 5 days a week. I do usually drink 8 glasses of water a day or more. Do you think I should increase this intake?
