Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Area Of Pisiform Bone

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Jan 2015
Question: I have, in both hands, pain in the area of the Pisiform bone. I am not sure if the Pisiform bone is where the pain comes from or where the Ulna bone ends in that same area. It feels very much the same as tennis elbow when the doctor presses on a boney area near the elbow. I do have a bit of numbness in my hands at night and sometimes wear a brace, but many nights, if I hold my hands 'just so' I have no carpal tunnel numbness. None of my fingers hurt. But this 'tennis elbow type' pain at the Pisiform bone feels like tendonitis...? I play the piano a few hours a week and do a lot of typing in my job. I am 65. Have some B/P issues (treated) and some Angina issues (treated). Any thoughts?
Thanks...XXXXin Sunbury, Ohio

Brief Answer:
This can be posture and work related pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
There is possibility of nerve compression due to work and play with piano.
Superficial ulnar nerve compression can lead to numbness and pain in hand and fingers.
I will advise you EMG NCV study and clinical examination.
Many of my patients get relief with methylcobalamine and neurotropic medication like pregabalin you can take them consulting your doctor.
Physiotherapy plays important role in treatment. Physiotherapy like IFT And TENS will help you.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
