Suggest Treatment For Pain At Bottom Of Feet Inspite Of Having Arthritis

Question: My mom (61) suffers from the following: Arthritis (knee). Neck pain (she has severe pain around neck) Sensitive and dry skin. Currently she has started having severe pain at bottom of feet when she walks bare foot (she does that in temple) and she's also started feeling some sensation / pain in hands while clapping. What does this indicate and do we need to conduct any tests for the mentioned issues?

Brief Answer: seems to be osteoarthritis Detailed Answer: Hi, I m dr XXXXXXX , pleased to answer your health related queries As per history, it seems that your mother has osteoarthritis of knee and cervical vertebrae, which is very common in her age group. Pain in bottom of foot may be due to deformity of foot or it may be related to knee arthritis. Pain in hands while clapping is neurological and due to compression of nerves. I advice you to see your Orthopedician/neurolgist to assess the problem and treat her accordingly. Also, a physiotherapist can advice for exercises. These are mostly clinical diagnosis and do not require any special investigation. Taking neural supplements like Methylcobalamin would be helpful largely. Also, she must continue to take tablet shelcal regularly. Please discuss these options with her treating doctor. Regards Dr XXXXXXX
