Brief Answer:
Watch for nausea, weakness, dizziness, dry mouth, thirst and muscle pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in details.
Hydrochlorthiazide is a water pill and prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.

It is given for many conditions like edema, hypertension, nephrocalcinosis, osteoporosis, diabetes insipidus.

The initial dose is 25 mg once in the morning and the maximum dose can be 100 mg as a single or in divided doses.

Since your husband has taken 3 x 25 mg and 25 mg within 24 hours, therefore the total amount is within acceptable doses given in some people and will not cause any significant side effects.

However you must keep a watch on the following symptoms like nausea, weakness, dizziness, dry mouth, thirst and muscle pain. Should he have any of these then please take him to your doctors or ER.

Please do not worry as in most probability he will not experience any of the above side effects as his total consumption is within that given to most people in a day. However make sure this does not happen again even by accident. Usual dose can be taken tomorrow if he has no side effects of over dosing.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
