Posted on Tue, 22 Aug 2017
Question: Hello,
my name is XXXXXXX I was on contraceptives medications for hormonal balance more then 20 years.
Last 6 years I started bio identical hormonal therapy, and feel very good, looking good and having period every month. I am 55 years old now.
But for the past 2 years I have noticed my right clavicle bone become bigger and swollen.
I also had a cyst on my right ovary which stayed the same size for years and now since I saw my doctor last year it enlarged 1 inch more. My doctor recommended to remove the right ovary and partially left as well.
What would be your explanation to my condition and suggestion what I have to do.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Surgery seems appropriate

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

At 55 years, if ovarian cyst is enlarging then it is safer to remove it. Because possibility of cancer increases in that scenario. Especially if it has solid components. If you can upload the copy of the report, I may be able to give a better opinion.

Regarding the clavicle enlargement, it seems unrelated to ovarian or hormonal problems. It should be examined clinically by a doctor and if required, a simple xray will give a lot of information.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your prompt respond.
I had MRI done of my R clavical and Doctor refered it to hormonal changes.
Which specialist you recommend to F/Up with this?

Brief Answer:
Orhtopedian will be appropriate

Detailed Answer:
Again I would request for a copy of the MRI report as that would help me in giving a better opinion. But definitely, for a bone problem, hormonal or non-hormonal, an orthopedician should be consulted.
