Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: Hi - I am suffering from one sided throbbing headache (with no other symptoms of migraine) from a couple of days which made me visit a opthalmologist and the following Eye health was given:
Right eye (Distance):
SPH -0.50
CYL -0.50
AXIS: 180
Vision: 6/6
Right eye (Near):
SPH 0
CYL 0
Vision: N6
Left eye (Distance):
SPH 0
CYL -0.75
AXIS: 180
Vision: 6/6
Right eye (Near):
SPH 0
CYL 0
Vision: N6

My questions:
Do i need to really wear glasses? I am apprehensive towards them as I never wore one throughout and wanted an opinion to decide?
Does this only look like the cause of one-sided pain in the head?
If I have to wear glasses what times should i wear them?

Brief Answer:
Since this refractive error is significant you need to wear spectacles.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having myopia with astigmatism in right eye and myopic astigmatism in left eye.
This refractive error is significant and requires correction by spectacles.

Refractive errors can cause headache because of eye strain.

Hence I advice you to start wearing spectacles.
The spectacles need to be worn continuously for another 2-3 months, later again you need to consult your ophthalmologist or optometrist for evaluation of refractive error.

Hope this information is helpful to you.

Thank you
