Question: Recently been diagnosed of Thyroid mass or nodular goitre. I actually had hyperthyroidism but I took some medications and now am euthyroid. Still have the thyroid mass but not visible on the neck. What should I do next?

Brief Answer:
Thyroid

Detailed Answer:
I follow what you are saying.

The cause of the hyperthyroidism needs to be determined with certainty to plan the best course of action.

A test called Radioactive Iodine (RAI) 123 uptake and scan is helpful in making this out. If XXXXXXX 123 is not available in your country then Technetium thyroid uptake and scan is also ok.

For example, if the test result shows a condition called 'Transient thyroiditis' then treatment with carbimazole is not necessary as it tends to get better on its own.

But if it indicates either Diffuse toxic goitre or multi nodular goitre or a solitary hot nodule then there are various treatment options such as surgery, radio-ablation and medication (like carbimazole).

You will be best served by seeing an endocrinologist in person
