Question: My Son is having Nephrotric syndrome issue last 4 month.
When he was just 11 month old only, problem is started with him.
Doctor is started omnacortil 20mg medicine in starting phase. That medicine will continue till 2 month due to late response of medicine.
After that medicine doctor reduced his medicine to 15mg alternative days(Note-Protein come nil on that stage).
But after month again his protein started to come 3+.so doctor strated Envas2.5mg and omnacortil 15 same as above.
but still he is same 3+ after month of envas so now doctor is asking for biopsy.

Brief Answer:
Looks like Steroid Dependant Nephrotic Syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi.....by what you quote this looks like Steroid Dependant Nephrotic Syndrome.

The treatment is going in the right direction.

Definitely he will require a biopsy, but not an emergency. If I were your treating pediatrician I would give a prolonged 6 months course of 0.5mg/kg/day of Prednisolone.

If after this also the kid is again relapsing while lowering the dose of Prednisolone, then I would prefer to have a biopsy done.

Thanks for your feedback.
For him doctor observed till 2 month of given 15 mg alternative(45 Days) and 7.5mg alternative(15 Days) with Envas 2.5mg(1 month) as baby weight is 8.7kg. But there is no improvement seen by doctor so may she took biopsy decision.
But here is my query is for biopsy doctor is asking to admit baby for 3 days.
Like one day before-after and one day biopsy.
Shell this is right process?

Brief Answer:
Yes your doctor is right

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Yes your doctor is right. 1st day they will do some tests if the baby is fit for biopsy or not. Then anesthetist will see.

Next day they will do the biopsy.

Then they will observe for 24 hours more if there is any bleeding etc. Then they will discharge the kid.
