Question: I have headache fom couple of years. previously I use to take some medicine and its going. But now a days it is coming regularly and it has some symtoms like Sinuses. So I have visited a doctor at my native and he suggested to go for a Nasal endoscopy- CAT scan.
Based on scan results he suggested to go for an operation. The observations from his side are below
NASAL SEPTAL DEVIATION."S"
BILATERAL ETHMOIDAL RHINOSINUSITIS AND
BILATERAL MAXILLARY RHINOSINUSITIS
WITH BLOCKED OSTEOMEATALCOMPLEX
CHRONIC HY-TURBINATES
SHALOM'S SYNDROME

I would like to know how complex is this surgery or is there is any alternative to this with medication only. Can I get any reference to specialist doctor for second opinion?

Brief Answer:
surgery-inevitable, medical college-second opinion

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

As per your details (clinical details + ct report) - you Require surgery, can be done under general anesthesia, needs 1-2 hours time interval.

As such, medications will not help in chronic cases, because deviation(bony septum) and blockage of osteomeatal complex can be corrected only through surgery. Kindly go ahead.

You can visit any medical college or major hospital in your place for second opinion.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
