Question: I just want a magic pill OR someone to steer me in the right direction. I miss my LIFE.
What I experience is a tight feeling in both legs - feel like I just can`t lift my feet after walking about 10mins, sitting for about 2 hours and then I need to lay down as the pain is bad. Standing my legs just begin to feel like they will give out on me - very tight like a hug around my calves when I walk, at the beginning when I walked I felt a tightness around my chest. Heels are on fire and Achilles tendon feels stretched (physicist said I have plantar fasciitis and other issues, but the pain dose not go away, burning at times from large toe up to just about knee, and sharp pain in both thighs at the top. Toes feel numb an tingly most of the day.
I have undergone a number of investigation with no abnormal findings No evidence to confirm connective tissue disorder or inflammatory arthritis. I underwent EMG (January) which were normal, no evidence of peripheral neuropathy or radiculopathy. No evidence of any neurological disorders were identified. I have had entire spine (3 parts) and brain MRI no lesions or evidence of myelopathy or nerve root compression. Doppler studies completed noted no abnormalities with respect to circulation. Low B12 (224) low Vitamin D methylmalonic acid (.24). Have been taking 1000mg of both B12 and D since April 29, don`t really feel a difference. HELP just want my life back

Brief Answer:
Possibility of Muscle cramps can be considered.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Possibility of Muscle cramps can be considered as your all other reports are normal.
Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil
Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle.
Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same
Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels again to see weather your oral therapy of supplement is effective or not. We usually give vit B12 injection for better absorption.

Your symptoms also guide towards possibility of lumbar canal stenosis.
I will advise you to re look at MRI spine for canal stenosis or redo MRI spine with 3 tesla machine.

You can continue physiotherapist help till time.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.

Many of my patients get relief by yoga pranayama and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX so you can also due that.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.

This reply saddens me because I was a very active physical fit person. NO it is not muscle cramps as I feel the pain even when resting. My toes are numb and feet are burning so somehow muscle cramps just doesn't work and really is not something that I will accept. The thigh pain is so bad when I first start to walk, and I do stretch before and after. I drink so much water that I float away and I have a very healthy diet. I was hoping that you would come up with possible "disease" that have not yet been investigated.

Hello again

There is possibility of lumbar canal stenosis also as per your symptoms.
I will advise you to re look at MRI spine for canal stenosis or redo MRI spine with 3 tesla machine.

If all test are normal then restless leg syndrome can be considered.

You already have done lot of investigation,if clinician suspects malignancy then SPECT scan will help in diagnosis in early stage.
