Question: Hi I'm 25 year old male suffering from migraine!!during attack of migraine is it normal that nausea also occur n remain for 10 days?plz suggest me proper treatment!!

Nausea is feature of migraine

Detailed Answer:

Migraine is primary headache with onset in young age. It is of two types, migraine with aura and migraine without aura.
Migraine headache characters are
1) Unilateral mostly
2) throbbing nature
3) mild to moderate intensity
4) peaks in hours
5) persists usually for less than 72 hours
6) May be associated with nausea, vomiting, photophobia, phonophobia
7) Aggravating factors like missing meal, chocolate, coffee, sunlight, stress, decreased sleep
8) releiving factors like sleep, dark room, pain killers.

For preventing avoid aggressive factors.
Treatment is divided into two parts.
1) treatment of acute attack: NSAIDS, Naproxen, Triptans like sumatriptan, razitriptan,
2) prophylaxis therapy: beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, Topiramate, Valproate, amitryptiline.
All this treatment can be tried after discussing effect and side effects with the patient.
I will advise you that consult a neurologist for proper examination and treatment.
It is not very serious disease and most people suffer from migraine.
Prophylaxis is required only if number of attacks are more in a month.
