Question: Would a nose spray or eye drops help stop the vision part of an ocular migraine. I dont usually get the headache part, just the vision. I take propanolol which has slowed them down but they do still last about 20 minutes then makes me feel worn out and very sensative to light

Brief Answer:
Take treatment and precautions as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having migraine with aura.
The visual symptoms are not related to eye but the brain. Therefore eye drops will hardly help you.
You should follow instructions as for migraine.
Avoid fasting, skipping meals, excessive tea or coffee and chocolates.
Take timely meals and proper sleep.
Avoid any other triggers if identified like particular food stuffs, excessive light.
You should take a pain killer as soon as you get migraine attack and get rest or a sleep in quiet and dark place.
No eye drop will be effective in such episodes.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is not a remedy.
Propranolol is used as migraine prophylaxis to prevent such episode.
You can take divalproate, Flunarizine, Topiramate as prophylaxis too.
Triptans like Rizatriptan can be taken at the onset of symptoms to abort the migraine attacks.
