Suggest Treatment For Lump On Side Of Forehead

default
Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: A couple of days ago, I noticed a couple of large lumps on the top of my head, off center to the right a little. Today, in addition, I noticed a large, but somewhat flat lump on the right side of forehead. I had massive pulmonary emboli in 2011 and now take Xarelto blood thinner. I also had a forehead (eyebrow) lift in 2013 and it took a long time to heal with the cutting inside the hairline. Please advise.

I forgot to mention that I have not hit or bumped my head at all. The lumps appeared out of nowhere.

Brief Answer:
Can be diopathic urticarial patch / rash

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Noted the history of Pulmonary embolism in 2011 taking Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) and eyebrow lift in 2013 taking long time to heal.
Present problem of large lumps on the to the right of head a couple of days ago and large flat lump on the right side of forehead without any history of trauma. Lumps appeared out of nowhere.

I hope there is no pain, redness, local temperature is normal or no tenderness (as you have not mentioned).
These then are possibly just an allergic reaction to something (Idopathic), urticarial patch. Xarelto also can cause this.

I think, these can be kept under observation and watched for the redness, pain, tenderness and so on.

You may consult your Physician and ask for visual inspection and palpation to have a better diagnosis, and more important whether to take antihistamine and oral steroids or not. This is so because you are already taking Xarelto and the Doctors who prescribed you this medicine are more informed of its details.

I hope this answer helps you. Please feel free to ask further relevant queries if you need to or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communication.
