Suggest Treatment For Lump On Shoulder Blade
Question: Hi am concerned about a lump my daughter has on her shoulder blade. It is about a golf sized lump, rock hard, moves with the shoulder blade bone when she moves her arm. no pain with it but uncomfortable to ly on back, or with back against a chair. No redness and has not changed size in 3 months. There was no injury to arm or shoulder.

Well looking into your query I would like to tell you that the description you are telling warrants immediate evaluation . Giving you a diagnosis is very difficult but still Bony exostosis and any bone tumor needs the most consideration . MRI had already been done and we would need to see what the result is . A biopsy of the lesion would be required to establish the diagnosis but the decision will be taken after the MRI results.
Any other cystic lesion or abscess would have been painful or associated with smooth consistency , so they are ruled out . Bony exostosis is seen in patients with such features but malignancy is always a close mimic so both conditions needs to be ruled out . Rest let me know what your concerns are.
