Suggest Treatment For Lump On Lower Calf

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Oct 2015
Question: I have a lump under my skin on the inside of my lower calf. I noticed it around five days ago. It's not painful, no itching, it's just there. It looks like it might be shrinking just a little. Not much but enough to see it shrunk a tiny bit. But It seems turning just slightly pinkish red. Just slightly. I was wondering what it is? Am I going to have a stroke or something. Dit I take to many high dose of Vitamins. I had a small one on my chest about 2 months ago. Then I stopped taking this certain Fish oil pills and it went away.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Please give details and photograph.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history related to medications you are taking, the past history of a small lump on your chest about 2 months ago and now a lump under the skin on the inner of lower calf about 5 days ago. Not painful, not itching and most probably shrinking but turning slightly pinkish red.

No, you are not going to have stroke, high dose of vitamins may not be responsible.

The most probable cause can be just a development of a Cyst or a boil.
May I please know a few more details so that I can assist you more:
- What is the size?
- Is it moving with the skin if the skin is moved?
- Does it have a black spot in the center on the skin?
- Was there any trauma to the area?
- Any other information you would like to give to add to my knowledge?

Please post a clear photograph for me to see and understand more.
I would advise you the following in such a situation.
- If there is change in color to slightly pinkish red, it is possible that it is going into the stage of inflammation and/or infection. You may then need an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines, clinical evaluation by a Doctor for diagnosis and most important to get an appropriate treatment.

I hope this answer helps you.
