Suggest Treatment For Lump In The Anal Area

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jul 2015
Question: I have a lump near my anus region. Also, It is not a regular lump as only a small part is swollen but the surrounding anus area is normal. The lump is red in color and has 3 mouths (tops). There was a constant pain initially in the anus region but after a few days the pain disappeared. Now, it only pains when I try pressing it. There is no significant discharge even on pressing it. Thers is no difficulty in discharging stool.

It is right up in the anus and I am very worried and very ashamed to consult a physician. Can you please help me? Do I need to consult immediately?

Brief Answer:
sentinel pile due to anal fissure

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, an elucidate history and clear picture.

This is a classical ''sentinel pile'' a skin tag that develops in response to the anal fissure.

I would advise you the following:
High fiber diet.
Avoid all the foods and beverages and stress-like conditions which gives constipation.
Laxative for softening the stool- never allow the dose too much to cause liquid stools.
Sitz bath- very important- just before passing a stool and after passing a stool.
Clean the area very clear of the fecal soiling that remains after cleaning; use cotton soaked in the same water to clean.
You can apply liquid povidone iodine locally. Apply nothing else.
5 day course of an antibiotic and metronidazole on prescription of a local Doctor.
Add probiotics and multivitamins.
Avoid stress and mental tensions at any cost; this is a very important factor.

Continue this for 3 weeks and I am sure you will be fine.

I hope this answer helps you.

Brief Answer:
keep stool soft, no anxiety

Detailed Answer:
The causes are only few, the commonest is constipation and another cause is intestinal infection.

Take full diet and laxatives whenever necessary.
If you get intestinal infection, get prompt treatment, and you will never have this problem.
Also stress and anxiety, tensions should be kept at bay.
