Suggest Treatment For Loose Stool And Headaches After A Tetanus Shot

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Jan 2017
Question: Yesterday evening, I received a tetanus shot. This morning, I had a loose stool, mild headache, much like a sinus headache, and my joints and muscle ache, and of course the sore arm at the injection sight. I'm a 40 year old female, and I've never had a reaction to a vaccine other than the soreness at the injection sight.

Brief Answer:
Just mild side effects to the tetanus shot, usually subside within 24-48 hrs

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. All the listed side effects are considered mild side effects of the tetanus shot, and usually subside within 24-48 hours of the shot. If at all these side effects prevail for more than 48 hours, they may require symptomatic treatment but are nothing serious and should not cause any concern.

Please let me know if the side effects last for longer than 48 hours, so I can recommend some medications that may help make you feel comfortable. But do not worry, mild side effects to the tetanus shot are nothing to worry about at all.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
