Suggest Treatment For Lipomas On Arms And Back

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Jun 2016
Question: I have a history of what my doctor calls lipomas on my arms and back. I have had it biopsied and it was benign. I am concerned as a few years ago a dermatologist said I should have a colonoscopy because of it. My primary doctor said they are common. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Why would that dr recommend the colonoscopy?

Brief Answer:
To rule out the presence of lipomas in colon

Detailed Answer:
In some individuals multiple lipomas in the skin are associated with visceral lipomas in the respiratory and alimentary tract.
Thats why the dermatologist had asked you to go for colonoscopy to rule out the presence of lipomas in the colon.
