Brief Answer:
How is the weight gain and urine output

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
How is the weight gain and urine output?
Generally adequacy of milk output is assessed by these:
If baby is sleeping well in between feeds , gaining weight appropriately as in the growth chart, passing urine atleast 6 times a day, then milk output is adequate.
Just crying for more feed doesny mean that mother doesn't have enough milk.
To improve milk output for the mother,
1. She should take plenty of liquids atleast 3 to 4 litres including milk around a litre..
2. Perinorm tablet can be given thrice dailly for 3 days only to see if it helps , but ideally under medical supervision with your gynecologist.
3. Relaxation, music, yoga and mild exercises should help her gain confidence.
4. If still the output is low then you can add formula feeds like similac once or twice a day , and that too only after breastfeeding.

Wishing your baby good health

Hello Sir,

Thanks for your reply.

Baby weight gain and urine output is good.

But some times we are using "Lactogen" milk formula to feed baby. That's the reason I have asked this question.

Few people suggesting us to use "Satavarex from ZANDU pharma" for improving milk output instead of tablets.

Will "Satavarex" helps to improve milk output?
Can we go-ahead and use this?

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Can be used

Detailed Answer:
Hi
It's an ayurvedic product which can be used.
Many of my colleagues do recommend it for their patients.
However there are no scientific trials or data to support it's use or it's side effects.
It's personal choice to use or not.
Lactogen can be given in addition to breast feed.
Regards
