Question: Hi Doctor,

My friend gets some sort of lesions on his foot. He is using neo clobenate gm cream for more than a year and he tells that if he stops the usage, he is getting his lesions back. Seems his skin got addicted to the cream.
After consulting a doctor, I asked him to stop the usage of that cream and he tried applying coconut oil and the Vasceline Jelly as per the Doctor's advise. But he said that the lesions are back and its itching a lot. How long will it take to get rid of this? Do you have any suggestions for this?

Brief Answer:
Underlying cause needs to be identified

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I went through your query and photos attached and understood your concerns for your friend.

By looking at picture of lesions there could two possibilities one contact dermatitis with secondary bacterial infection of lesions. These lesions do subside by changing his foot wears with treatment of infection. Other condition would be infection of superficial skin layer, There could be predisposing factor contributing to repeated infection which is not corrected. For example vascular insufficiency, Uncontrolled sugar levels, edema, eczema etc.
Underlying conditions need to be identified first and corrected to prevent repeated infection. Better get blood sugar level test done- FBS and PPBS. Get examined him by your doctor

Try to rest with leg in higher position compared to body by putting them on 2 pillows, to improve circulation. Better to use oral antibiotics to control infection and treatment of predisposing factor. He should avoid using completely covered shoes, Which increases dampness and more prone to infection

Hope i answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.
