Brief Answer:
NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.

From the history that you have stated,it seems that the pain is probably arising due to a pinched nerve in the cervical spine.

Spinal nerves are meant to supply neuronal signals to various ares of our body. Each spinal nerve has a specific area that it supplies.

If,by any cause, such nerves get compressed, then they lead to very sharp pain in the region that they supply.

In your case, either 5th or 6th left cervical nerve in the neck region seems to be pinched in the spinal region, most probably due to a slipped intervertebral disc.

These nerves travel to the shoulder, arm and some part of the chest region.Blocking of their conduction pathways, leads to such sharp pains.

Other possibility is that the pain may be related to underlying heart disease.
Get an ECG done along with a consultation with a physician to rule out cardiac causes.

If ECG comes out to be normal, then you can be sure that its due to a slipped disc in neck.

Then you should get an X ray and MRI of cervical spine done to confirm the diagnosis.

Only taking rest and drinking water won't help.

Take analgesics like tramadol, paracetamol or ibuprofen, apply local analgesic gels and hot fomentation for immediate pain relief.

Let me know about the ECG and MRI reports so that i can guide you further.

I hope the answer was useful.

Thank you .
Kind regards.
