Suggest Treatment For Large Red Rash On The Back Of Leg
Question: Im a 38 year old female. Ive been on vacation on Maui for a week and have had a fairly large hot, red rash on the back of my thigh. It turns white when pressed.

If the area itches then I recommend using a steroid cream to reduce the itch and reduce the redness. If this is not an insect bite then it could be related to a superficial infection. For this I would recommend seeing an urgent care center for possible antibiotics.

It was itchy at first, but then began to hurt, now it doesn't hurt at all. Concerned it might be a sign of deep vein thrombosis from the plane flight. Do you think this is a possibility?
