Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain And Memory Loss

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Oct 2014
Question: Two things, major problems... Other smaller problems don't seem to important.

1. Left knee pain. Tightness and sore. Back of lower knee area. Walking today, but I have been for the last three weeks and this is the first time it has been so painful. Very sore when I bend my knee and when I straighten my knee. In between, pain decreases.

2. Recently, I have been having issues with my head. I don't know how to explain it without sounding crazy. I was lying in bed and headbutted the person I was laying to. It went black for a split second (before I headbutted them) and I got scared because I forgot where I was. I didnt realize what happened, until I saw them holding their head and my was just as sore. I have random bouts with memory loss and my attention span is not very good. I have not suffered any head injuries lately. It's like I am zoning out.

I am making an appointment to see a Dr, but I currently see an APRN and the clinic has not renewed their lease, due to impending XXXXXXX (I live in Pahoa, Hawaii)

Thnak you!

Brief Answer:
knee pain can be due to cartilage injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and i have following suggestions.
1. Knee pain - In young patient without any trauma, knee pain is not common, If you are having this pain there can be cartilage damage in the knee. This is called chondromalacia patallae, Pain in not limited to knee joint but calf and thigh can also be painful.
To confirm the diagnosis you will need to get it examined by othopaedic doctor. If he think that it is softening of cartilage then he may advised you following.
1. Avoid squatting and sitting cross leg, using stairs
2. Tablet Etricoxib one daily
3. Tablet Dicerin one daily along with calcium and vitamin D3

2. Head injury can cause confusion. It is called concussion. If it is also associated with nausea, vomiting and unconsciousness then it can be serious injury and it needs a CT scan. If none of the above mentioned symptoms is present then you can keep an observation on your self.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup question.
