Suggest Treatment For Kidney Stone

Question: In response to dr. Sanghvi, I am now on prednisone @15 mg per day and doing great, except this morning I woke up with what may be a kidney stone in my left back area. I went to my gp and I did have moderate amount of blood in urine. He was apprehensive about doing a ct scan as I have had 3 in last 6 months. He did do a xray that showed nothing. He gave me 750 mg hydrocodone for pain in case it starts to move again. Right now it is not hurting since I have been up an moving around. I hope this is not a kidney stone. It seems almost situational in that when I bend over or move a certain way, it does not hurt as much. I had one in 2002 and it seemed like it hurt nonstop and movement did not help it. Of course, it had moved out of kidney and was slashing its way to my bladder. I had to be hospitalized then with morhine for 2 days before it passed. This one, if it is one, must be just sitting in the kidney and maybe trying to move into ureter and goes back into kidney. I guess I will know tonite after lying down if it is a stone or just some kind of pinched nerve or muscle problem. thanks for asking. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You should go for ultrasound kidney.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have kidney stone.
Treatment depends on size of stone and location of stone. Stone less than 3 mm don't need surgery. Larger stone may need surgery.
So you should go for ultrasound kidney to know exact site and size. Then you should plan accordingly. Till that you can take diclofenac sodium to releive pain.
Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer.
