Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. This seem to be a an acute post-viral Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI).

2. A set of routine blood tests and a change in the antibiotic to a broad spectrum penicillin group is recommended.

3. Unresponsive pains, aches and weakness suggests that either the pain medication is not absorbed or the viremia has spread to the rest of the body.

4. It will be prudent to get a direct check-up from a physician, especially since there are multiple joint swellings involved.

5. Kindly follow up with the examination and blood reports. Meanwhile bed rest and hydration are recommended.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Yes, I agree that the rapid, severe onset of joint pains and swelling needs immediate attention.

2. That is why I have recommended the direct examination, blood tests and rest.

3. The decision for imaging and further medication is best left to the examining physician.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.
