Question: Hi, my doctor says I am pre diabetic but I have not done anything about it. I have at times get very itchy between my legs and also grt a skin rash on my face. Can you help? XXXX

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

Increased blood sugar may be associated with increased chances fungal infection of skin.
Fungal infection usually present with rash and itching which usually involves groin, private parts, axilla and rarely face.

You should do OGTT (Oral Glucose tolerance Test) and /or HbA1c to know your diabetic, pre-diabetic or normal status.

Chances of Pre-diabetes or diabetes increase if -
- You are overweight or obese (BMI, Body Mass Index more than 25).
- Family history of diabetes.
- Sedentary life style it means lack of physical activity
- Bad eating habits (fast food).

After doing above tests If these above tests are normal then consult dermatologist.
If test reports show diabetes or Pre-diabetes status consult diabetologist.
