Question: My urinary meatus is irritated and inflamed (pain during miction). It is not an infection; I have tried to clean the interior with a disinfectant solution that caused this. What ointment / treatment would you suggest? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
You can use a mild steroid cream.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
I read carefully your query.

So you have cleaned the interior part of urethra with a disinfectant and now the urethral meatus is irritated and inflamed.
This is caused from direct trauma and irritation of the urethra.
Trauma causes an inflammation which could be manage by using a mild steroid cream such as betamethasone cream twice daily
It is an over the counter drug and you could start using it for a couple of days and see the evolution. If your symptoms will improve in 4-5 days you can continue using it until complete recovery but if your symptoms doesn't seem to improve you should consult a physician and get examined.

Meanwhile you also should:
-mantain a good hygiene in your genital area.
- avoid irritating soaps ,just clean it with water then dry it.
- apply cold compresses locally to reduce inflammation
- avoid having sex until the inflammation has subsided.
- avoid wearing tight underwear and use cotton underwear.

-Drink plenty of water because this will dilute your urine and make the urination less uncomfortable.

Hope it was of help.
Let me know if you have other questions or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind Regards,
