Brief Answer:
Do some basic investigations. Need hormonal pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Some underlying causes of irregular period are mental stress, emotional upset, hormonal imbalance, Poly Cystic Ovary, over weight or sudden loss, irregular diet pattern, pelvic infection etc. I suggest to undergo some basic investigation to narrow down the causes and confirm the diagnosis.

2) I suggest to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan and complete hormone profile (like Serum estrogen, progesterone, LH/ FSH, serum TSH, Prolactin, Testosterone, DHEAS etc) to rule out underlying pathology. You can consult with your nearest OBGYN for proper guidance.

3) Combined hormonal pills are the mainstay of treatment to regularize your cycle. It can be prescribed after reviewing test reports.

Take healthy diet with LOW carbohydrate and IRON supplements, do light to moderate exercise for physical fitness and to control body weight, avoid mental stress completely by regular meditation or yoga. Maintain a healthy life style always.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.
