Question: Hello I had head trauma more then ten years and after that I started having like panic attacks or something I wouldnt know if that was the reason for the sure because I never went to the doctor for it. Well after some times it wouldn't happened that much anything. Well not to look along it happened twice when I went out and I wasn't drinking alcohol. So recently I had not been feel that well and finally went to the doctor and he found out I have a sinsus infection. The sinsus infection is fine now. However during the time of the Sinus I was having trouble staying asleep. So now I can't fall asleep at all unless take a sleeping pill. My question is could the head trauma from ten years ago and the insomnia be linked and should I get my head/ brain checked.

Need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Before commenting upon relation between your insomnia and head trauma, I need to know about what head trauma you had 10 years ago.
Was there any brain bleed, fracture ?

Were you unconscious for long time, admitted in ICU or undergone surgery?

It is needed as severe or dangerous head injury can cause changes in behaviour, may cause anxiety/ depression/ social withdrawn/ lack of sleep (Insomnia)/ headache. It occurs due to injury in brain especially "temporal and frontal" lobes.

Other causes in your case could be

: Mental stress
: Excessive alcohol abuse in night or smoking
: Coffee or tea use
: Lack of physical activity

Kindly provide me information about it also. I will be able to suspect something with a clearer picture.

Hope you will understand my point.

Thanks. Take care.
