default
Posted on Tue, 22 Sep 2015
Question: In mid XXXXXXX I went to the hospital for a DVT, my renal function was good and there was inflammation in my right let. Almost a year prior the same happened with the right leg. In XXXXXXX I had no insurance so I checked my self out and used the medication I had saved 10 shots of home lenovox.

As of today my left foot has not healed as there is swelling the longer I sit, some days it is not to bad

I started having shortness of breath a week ago, I thought it was from a pulled mussel (I was reaching across and up and something pulled) but now I think it could be more serious (I do not know). I have 20 steps to my apartment and I am out of breath by the top stair. I am 6 foot and 255 pounds, I am 40 pounds over weight 210 is really my minimum weight because of very broad shoulders

Tomorrow morning I have a cross country flight and I am trying to figure out if it is safe to fly.

Hi

Welcome to HCM

DVT may be due to Sitting for long periods of time, overweight, smoking, prolonged breed rest and and injury or surgery. It is difficult to comment on the leg without examination, of possible upload the picture. But the symptoms mentioned are seen in DVT.

I would suggest you not to try any medication without consulting the doctor. I would insist you to Lose weight and quit smoking. Avoid sitting still. Do regular exercise and Wear compression stockings to help prevent blood clots in the legs.

Regarding the breathless it need to be evaluated, as you have DVT, shortness of breath need to be taken seriously, as of the completion of DVT is pulmonary embolism, it do present with the similar symptom, do I would suggest you to see physician to rule out this immediately.

Hi

Sorry to hear that you are going through this.
It is difficult to comment on the status without examination but I would suggest you to be bit patient, pain will not decrease at once, it will reduce gradually. Ib would like to know if there any increase in the pain or had it reduced after talking the medication.

Along with medication I would suggest you to avoid sitting for longer time, prolonged breed rest, smoking. I would suggest you to see the consulting doctor in case the pain increases for further help.
