Question: Fingernail on right hand appears infected and swollen slightly for 2nd day. Please suggest treatments.

Please upload a photo of the lesion so that I am better able to help you. In case of infected and swollen fingernail I suggest my patients to take oral antibiotic like amoxicillin clavulanic acid combination along with anti inflammatory medicines like serratiopeptidase diclofenac combination to reduce pain and swelling. I also advise them to apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin on the nail folds and go for hot fermentation of the affected nail.

These are prescription medicines and you need to meet the doctor in person to get them.
