Question: Hi Doctor,
I am six weeks pregnant and have fasting blood sugar between 100 to 112 on an average. Sugar levels after food are normal ( they stay within 140 after 1 hr of food ). My gynecologist suggested me to take Ombimet SR 500 mg after breakfast and after dinner. I tried it for 1 week, but it does not seem to have any impact on the sugar level. It reads same even now. On top of it I got indigestion and worse nausea. Can you please suggest if its the right medicine or should I shift to insulin injection/ stop medication?

Brief Answer:
drug treatment not needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand your concerns.

The levels which you have mentioned are well within normal range.
In my opinion, the drug treatment is not needed at blood levels of sugar.

However, I would suggest you to go for oral glucose tolerance test and glycosylated haemoglobin levels.. This will further confirm the status of diabetes.

For indigestion and nausea, tablet pantocid-dsr will help.

Kindly discuss this with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Thanks.
