Suggest Treatment For Ileostomy
Question: hi,my 2 months baby had ileostomy 20 days back and now he is stable.doctor suggested to gain weight of the baby for closure of ileostomy.after surgery baby feeded with pro nan-1 .after one week doctor suggested isomil to gain weight of the baby(to reduce the water content in the motion because of ileostomy).now we are using isomil formula but the child motion is too hard ,can we use pro nan-1 inbetween isomil feed for free motion.and suggest baby to gain weight what i have to do for male baby of 50 days.thank you for awaiting repley.

As per the history of the baby that you have given, the prime moto should be to increase weight of the baby.
Pronan or isomil have more or less same composition, they are product from two different companies. I dont think any one have any advantage over the other. Feel free to use any, which gives better bowel movement and also gives good weight gain for the baby.
Just monitor the weight gain, if its not satisfactory then the formula has to be changed.
