Question: I am 63 yrs. Two years back underwent angioplasty for Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction. Now I find I lost libido and suffer from ED & PE. I am taking following medicines: Clopitab 75A, Rosavel 20 (this is replaced by Tab. Aztor EZ 20 due to increase in LDL on 14.9.14), Dytor 10, & Prolomet XL 50. Kindly advise if I can use Viagra, Sildenafil, Cialis, Levitra, MUSE or any other medicine without side effects I tried to discuss this matter with my Cardiologist through an email msg (as I felt awkward to ask him personally and also his cabin is shared by 2 female clerks), but have not received any reply from him. A friend of mine advised me to take Tab. Mildfil and Ignitor. But I am afraid of taking any such medicine without proper advice of a qualified doctor. For your information, I do not get any chest pain during sex act.

While surfing internet, I have come across some devices like Alprostadil injection and penile vacuum pump. Please advise if I can use the same and whether the same is available in open market without prescription.

A scanned copy of Discharge Summary, a sketch and latest prescription is attached.

Brief Answer:
You can use the pump

Detailed Answer:
hi, thanks for your query

In this age, hypertension itself causes sexual side effects particularly erectile dysfunction apart from anti hypertensive drugs used to treat hypertension also causes erectile dysfunction.

You are on anti hypertensive and other medication to prevent further ischemic attacks.

Coming to your question, use of viagra, cialis and other similar drugs is risky for you because they can cause drop in the blood pressure and you are already on anti hypretensives, so there are chances of fainting after taking it. If you want to take this, you should have written prescription from a sexologist in collaboration with your cardiologist, because it is risky..whether to take or not? is matter of discussion between you, your sexologist and cardiologist.

Alprostadil urethral suppository [MUSE] is also helpful but it has the same risk associated with viagra, can cause fainting. You have to take first dose under observation of the treating doctor and accordingly your dose can be adjusted.

Penile vacuum pump seems to be good option for me, because it works locally and there are no systemic effects. You have to be cautious if the erection lasts for more than 1 hour. If erection lasts longer then it can cause permanent damage to penis..

So, pump is best option according to me..but you should use it only after permission from your sexologist and cardiologist..

I hope this will be helpful to you.. best of luck

Sir, Thank you so much for your prompt reply; and I accept your evaluation.

Kindly let me know if prescription is required to buy a Pump. If so, I will appreciate if you could send me a scanned copy of prescription to that effect. (Earlier I have explained my difficulty in discussing this issue with my doctor).

I find various Pump devices available from the net, but I am confused and unable to decide which is more suitable to my case. I will appreciate if you can recommend a Pump which is easy to use & operate along with details of Brand and manufacturer.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Online hybrid penile pumps available

Detailed Answer:
Hi. thanks for writing again.

For penis pumps prescriptions are not required, you can buy them online from many sites available.

I was insisting for evaluation by sexologist in person because, using a penile pump is safe but there are rare chances of priapism [which is prolonged erection not returning to normal state] which can cause damage to penis.

penis pump has good reviews for those who can not take viagra and MUSE.

My novelty shop is one such site. You may visit the site and and look into hybrid penis pumps available online, watch videos provided there, the technique of use, what are the different parts of devices, how to relieve vacuum? that is the main part..

I was insisting for sexologist because if you developed a side effects then you require someone who knows what you are using? So just visit a sexologist and ask him for the pump. he will give you knowledge. Do not feel shame in telling this to anyone because now a days it is very common, sexual problems are common in your age and you shouldn't be ashamed. Sexologist is the professional who deals with this only. You live in XXXXXXX so you can easily find a good sexologist there.

I hope you will find this helpful. Best of luck.
