Question: I am taking Cymbalta 60 mg and trazodone 100mg daily (past 1 year). Now I am developing some hypertension and high cholesterol I never had before. Do you think this could be serotonin syndrome?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Cymbalta and trazodone combination may not cause the serotonin syndrome very often and its rare with this combination. Further high cholesterol is never associated with serotonin syndrome. It appears that hypertension and high cholesterol have appeared gradually with time and drugs may not be related to it.
You need to follow life style changes with regular exercise and low fat diet with salt restriction. If the BO still doesn't settle down then you may have to consider taking the medicines to lower the cholesterol and lower the blood pressure.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
