Brief Answer:
"Steroid Abuse" or "Steroid dependence"

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

After reading your query it can make out that you have applied clearz XXXXXXX cream for pigmentation for long time.

The findings which I can get from your query make the diagnosis of "Steroid Abuse" or "Steroid dependence". "Steroid Abuse" or "Steroid dependence" is quite common phenomenon where after long term, injudicious and unregistered use of steroid creams without medical advice lead to the multiple side effects.

Clearz XXXXXXX contains hydroquinone, steroid and tretinoin. The cream is good but shouldn't be used without a dermatologist's prescription. On its prolonged use it can cause thinning skin with red irritated skin or even hair growth along with darkness of face. As I can make out that you have used the cream for long period of 5 month which caused the problems of redness and darkness.

Any cream containing topical steroid preparations are potentially known to cause side effects on long term or injudicious use in form of thinning of skin, hair growth on affected area and prominence of vessels with rashes.

In your case you have applied Clearz XXXXXXX which contains Flucinolone steroid in it. This is a medium potency steroid and is never to be used on for longer than 20 -30 days.

I very often see person of your age using this cream and later experiencing side effects of the same. Once it is started on face it initially gives fair complexion. This is because of mild stoppage of the activity of color producing cells. In our practice we use this cream but within a short span of 3-4 weeks we shift with certain other safer creams which are not containing steroids in it.

For the betterment you need to meet a dermatologist who can take off the steroidal side effects slowly with different medications. You need to have patience of multiple months to get off from the situation.

In my patients of your kind of situation I general prescribe Kojic acid cream (like Clearz ultra ) or Azelaic acid cream at night time only over the affected area. Apply it in such a thin layer that it should not be visible by naked eye. Do not try to rub it. These creams are to be used under dermatological guidance only. .

Additionally using a sunscreen daily helps in reducing he sun damage. Eat a lot of fruits and green leafy vegetables on regular basis to improve the repairing process of the skin.

It will take bit long time to get better so take a proper guidance form dermatologist in person and follow the suggestions.

Hope these informations will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Preparation of Kojic acid to be used

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks for your swift follow up with further queries.

You should not use any cream containing steroids as the skin is already been compromised. As metasone plus contains almost the same contents as the clearz XXXXXXX cream so it is not advisable to use the same.

As I said earlier in your kind of cases I shift my patients to preparation of Kojic acid. It is quite safe and never produce any side effects. Demelan, Kojivit and Clearz ULTRA containd kojic acid in it and therefore can be safely used.

You should meet a dermatologist and get your skin analyzed personally so that according to the status of the skin you can be properly guided for future.

I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further queries or if not then can close the discussion and rate the answer.
