Suggest Treatment For Hordeolum Of Eyelid

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jun 2014
Question: I've had a hordeolum for a week. My eye doctor said to treat it myself by putting hot compresses on the eye and then squeezing the stye afterwards. I do this twice a day. It's no better, no worse. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Don't worry,It just need some more time to heal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam!
I read carefully your problem.

It is important to explain that resolution often takes time and that several weeks of regular hot bathing may be required.
So just continue to do what your doctor advised you.It just need some more time.
All is needed to treat this is:
-Twice-daily (minimum because it is better to do it several times a day) warm compresses to warm up and loosen secretions. Try make-up cotton pads soaked in warm water and applied for about 10 minutes.
Massage the lids, 'milking' the secretions out (downward movement on the upper lid and upward movement on the lower lid). Do this with clean fingers or cotton buds.

In some cases the lesion get progressively larger and simple lid hygiene techniques don't help.In this case you should consult your eye doctor.

Hope my answer has helped.
Let me know if you have any other question.

Best Regards.
