Suggest Treatment For Hip Arthritis
Question: I have been taking voltorol oral medication for hip arthritis for 15 months approx.What is a safe level to take and for how long ? Also is there a safer over the counter medication I should try instead.

using NSAID for too long puts you at risk for side effects like gastrointestinal ulceration (and bleeding), kidney damage, hypertension, etc. There are no safe levels. The less you use it, the safer for you.
Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) is the simplest and safest drug to use. The problem with paracetamol lies to its efficacy. It's not as potent as any NSAID so only mild to moderate cases will respond adequately to it. Paracetamol enhances the effect of NSAID and vice versa, so using paracetamol with a NSAID helps to decrease the dosage to lower (and thus safer) levels.

I also take daily aspirin 75mg & Crestor 10mg, do either impact on taking paracetamol or NSAIDs ? Are any NSAIDs safer than voltorol ?
