Suggest Treatment For High Cholesterol Levels

Question: I'm a 62 year old female. Just learned I have high cholesterol and triglycerides. Haven't gone on medication yet; PA wants me to try low cholesterol diet for the next 6 months. However, another symptom I have is severe sweating without exertion. I am in full menopause; that process started at age 51. My thyroid is normal. Can the sweating be due to the cholesterol level? By severe, I mean I can be in an office talking to a peer totally normal and suddenly the sweat is running down my back, across my forehead and face. Thoughts?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms are not related to high cholesterol levels.

Menopause and the hormonal changes during menopause can explain your symptoms.

So, there is nothing to worry about.

A thyroid dysfunction has been excluded by your performed tests.

So, it is just temporary.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
