Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure

Question: I am a 70 yr old female w a history of high blood pressure. I take 20 mg of lisipril w 12.5 hctz 1x/day. Normally it is well controlled. I took a dose this am but have felt worse as the day went on. My current bp is 193/117. At 6 pm I took a half pill but it doesn't seem to working. What do you suggest I do?

If the blood pressure is constantly high and above 190 mmHg Hg systolic, I suggest you go to ER now.

Don't take extra doses of antihypertensives, you may land up in sudden hypotension.

I want you to not to neglect this as it may lead to stroke
