Brief Answer:
BP varies in various physiological states

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I carefully read your query.

One thing should be understood and kept in mind - blood pressure is a very variable parameter of the human organism and, in various times of the day, may be found in different figures. This is connected to the fact that some hormones reach their peak and XXXXXXX levels in various times of the day, also physical activity, psychological stress etc. The organism then reacts by elevating the blood pressure so it can cope with the stress that is posed to it. Therefore, I am not finding this very concerning, adding also the fact that you take this as a really worrisome phenomenon, which is accompanied by secretion of adrenalin (epinephrin), which also further raises the blood pressure figures. However, if you would be my patient, I would put you on a anti-hypertensive, knowing the fact that you already have taken the proper diet steps to reduce blood pressure and weight. My first choice would be in the area of a beta-blocker, such as already-perscribed metoprolol. I do not think you need to go to the emergency room. The next week's appointment seems appropriate.

I hope I was helpful with my answer. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
