Question: I am a 69 yr old male. My blood pressure has been elevated the last few days. I had a annual physical on Oct 21st. No changes were made to my medication but my blood pressure has remained high since my appointment. My wt is 210 lbs and I am 5 ft 9 in. My blood pressure over the past 4 days has been:

154/81

Hi,

1. I have gone through your blood pressure (bp) readings and noted that your bp is high.

2. If you were my patient, and taking into account that you are also a diabetic, I'd switch from ACE inhibitor (Ramipril) to ARB (e.g. Valsartan or Losartan) as these drugs have a more protective effect and work better in diabetics.
