Suggest Treatment For High BP Due To Infection After Root Canal

Question: Hello
on Christmas eve I started experiencing incredible tooth pain. On a level of 1-10 at times was an 12!! With it being Christmas and the dental clinics closed, I self treated as best I could. I had a regiment of approximately 1200 mg of Ibuprofen and 800 mg of Aleve 2-3 times a day because one alone didn't work. I did this from the 24-29. I went to the dentist on Monday and found my root canal had a major infection. The dentist cleaned it out and the pain is gone. I am only taking antibiotics. The problem is I now have very high blood pressure. On Monday it was 162/60 and as of today it is 142/124. I believe this is due to the medication. My question is, how long until my blood pressure returns to normal?

Brief Answer:
Due to NSAID, will return to normal soon

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
You have been on high doses of NSAID ( ibuprofen ). It retains Sodium and leads to water retention and high blood pressure. This will return to normal in a few days. This can be hastened with a few days of diuretic medicine.
Wish you good health
