Brief Answer:
Medicines proper dose-adjustment works well

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I hope you are talking of Herpes Zoster.
Its antiviral treatment is done from the day it is noticed; as it is 9 months old any anti-viral treatment will not work.

You have a problem of internal itching:
The medicines in varied combinations and dosage works very well. I can enumerate the names but you have to discuss this with your MD Physician or a Neurologist to get a prescription and dose adjustments suitable to get you a relief.
The medicines are Amytriptylin, Tegritol ( Cabamazepine ) and newer medicines Gabapentin and its variant. These can be get only on a viable prescription of a Doctor.

The dosage is decided the the attending Physician taking into consideration many factors on his actual examination , clinical history, severity of the problems, any other medical disorders.

In certain situations IF the medicines do not help much, a small surgery to cut the causative nerve too can be done - but always as a last resort when no medicines work.

You will definitely get the results with the above mentioned medicines.

I hope this answer helps you to get better and symptom-free.
Please feel free to ask more if you need further clarification or any help.
